Patty Jenkins is an American screenwriter and director, best known for her 2003 film Monster and 2017 film Wonder Woman. She directed one episode of Arrested Development.


Patty Jenkins was born in California in 1971. After attending high school in Kanasas, she attended The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York and later received her masters in directing from the American Film Institute.

After two short films, in 2003 she achieved fame for writing and directing Monster which won star Charlize Theron an Academy Award. Jenkins directed several episodes of television series, including winning a Directors Guild award for The Killing.

In 2017 Jenkins directed the successful superhero movie Wonder Woman and will return to direct the sequel.
